Monday, August 20:

Pastor Eric talked with Karl Henlin this morning. Hurricane Dean has passed by. They have no power or water but do have phones. Karl has heard from some folks that the church building is ok. Karl has minor damage to the roof on his house. He is not able to leave his house and doesn't know if the roads are open. He has not heard from anybody at Glade.

 

Tuesday, August 21:

Eric spoke with Karl and Lisa Henlin at 9:00 this morning. They still have no power or water, but power was being restored in some locations starting Monday evening. Roof damage is the main problem reported by Gregory Park, Glade, and Sydenham members. There has been no serious injury or loss of life reported. The oldest Baptist church on the island, Phillipo Baptist, lost the roof and experienced severe water damage. Karl was going there today to provide help. Pray for safety as Jamaicans clean up and repair the damage Dean left behind.
