Meet Our Pastors and Staff

Eric F. Goforth Senior Pastor
Eric is a native of Camden, South Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University, Greenville, S.C., his Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and his Doctor of Ministry from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond. Eric has served as the Senior Pastor at Chancellor since February 1994. He and his wife, Debi, have two daughters, Jessica and Kaitlin. The family has been adopted by a Chihuahua named Chance.

Kevin D. Carter Associate Pastor for Education
Kevin was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Averett College in Danville, Virginia and his Masters of Divinity in Christian Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Kevin has been at Chancellor Baptist since October 1999. He and his wife, Kimberly, have two sons, Kaleb and Kollin. |

M. McKenneth King Associate Pastor for Worship
McKenneth is from Jamestown, Tennessee. He received Bachelor of Arts degree from Tennessee Technological University and his Masters of Church Music degree from Southern Baptist Seminary. McKenneth has been at Chancellor Baptist since May 1994. McKenneth and his wife, Pam are both accomplished artists in piano and voice. The Kings have two sons, Joshua and Jacob. |

Fredrick "Fritz" W. Teeple Pastor Emeritus
Fritz graduated from The King's College in New York with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. He has thirteen years of teaching experience in both the middle and elementary school levels, as well as in both public and private school systems. Over his teaching career he coached soccer and basketball at the varsity and junior varsity levels. Fritz participated in a masters program on a degree from The John Leland Center for Theological Studies. His wife's name is Kady and they have three daughters, Kristin, Kathryn and Kelsey. |
Jean Bailey Office Manager and Assistant to the Senior Pastor
In 1987 Jean, her husband, son, and daughter moved to Fredericksburg. She joined the staff at Chancellor Baptist Church in December 2000 after working in the Trust Operations Department of Riggs Bank in Washington, DC and Maryland. She says that her greatest accomplishments in this life have been raising two wonderful children and being blessed with four even more wonderful grandchildren.

Julie Thompson Office Assistant
Julie joined our staff in 2004. She was born and raised in southern West Virginia before relocating to Fredericksburg with her family and graduating from Chancellor High School. Julie lived most of her adult life in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she attended Liberty University and spent several years working as an executive secretary for Jerry Falwell Ministries and Liberty Broadcasting Network. She and her husband, Paul, have one child and now reside in rural Stafford.
