Connecting Our Community with God through Life Changing Relationships

Congregational Care

Member Contacts

Involve the entire congregation in regularly contacting each other in order to improve relationships in the church. Deacons develop and lead in implementing a plan to accomplish this.

Goal: Beginning no later than September 1, every member will be contacted monthly Longer term goal: every member contacted weekly.

Communication

Improve communication to and among members.

Goals:
• Daily communication among staff and to deacons.
• Weekly communication with webmaster, What’s Happening at CBC (WH) editor, and all involved in Sunday morning leadership.
• Monthly communication of attendance info to deacons and other appropriate leaders (to enable identification of possible needs for care ministry).
• As needed, communication with Sunday School teachers and other leaders and members when special circumstances arise.
• Communication will be evaluated in terms of accuracy, timeliness, dissemination of information to all involved persons, and use of appropriate media such as radio and newspapers in addition to church means.
• Enlist a communication team to help us accomplish these goals.

Faith Development

Maturity Mile Markers

Call for the church to commit to daily Bible reading
and study, daily prayer, tithing, participation in
worship and participation in a small group in which
members meet weekly for the purpose of spiritual
growth.

This commitment will be encouraged through
sermons, small group emphases, testimonies, and
other means. The purpose of this is to encourage
and facilitate growth toward spiritual maturity.

Goals:

  • •  200 persons will be committed to all above actions
through the end of the year. This will be measured
by commitment cards beginning September 9.

  • •  Enlist church wide participation in three week, all
    day (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.) prayer calendar beginning
    August 19.

  • •  275 average attendance in small groups (including
but not limited to Sunday School) by December 31.

Outreach

Ministry Evangelism

Invite the congregation to be involved in ministry evangelism projects that will make a real difference
in our community.

Goal: That the church will participate in
congregation-wide projects on a monthly basis,
starting immediately by gathering school supplies for
needy elementary school students. (A team to
oversee future projects will be enlisted.)

Help with Outreach

Involve the entire congregation in growth in
outreach skills. Provide opportunities to strengthen
skills and learn more about how to reach out to
others more effectively through relationships.

Goal: To provide multiple events that will
strengthen outreach skills. This fall, enlist Sunday
School classes to offer the course, Just Walk Across
the Room. Support and complement this process
through sermons and other emphases.
